Your bones are nearest to you…but you can’t see or feel them [until it’s too late]. Your muscles are nearest to you…but you can’t actually see into your muscles [..you WILL know when they have gone wrong].
I just returned from a wonderful vacation in California. I co-raised my three stepdaughters there, lots of fantastic friends and seeing family. The entire trip was perfect. As the last [horribly hot and humid] days of August leave us, I hope you had a [much needed] holiday this summer.
Here was my challenge: my dear, smart friends are NOT paying attention to things nearest to them: their bones and muscles.

Do you ever find this with your friends and family….or yourself?
Of course, I’d be a fool to advance a conversation they are not willing to have. The challenge and prickliness is that there is NO PROBLEM until there are BIG ONES: bones and muscles are gone or rapidly going. What I DID do was give examples of how muscles saved me from two serious health challenges…no lecturing.
I DID ask: how do you know everything is ok…have you done a DEXA [whole body scan] to check your bone and muscle health?
We all know this: asking questions is a good way to nudge a topic that I think is important….maybe it will become important to them too. IF you are exercising for your bones and muscles NOW, a giant parade is moving down your street now – you are caring for the things nearest to you!
While others may think it is mundane – we know it anchors our good health, energy and happiness. IF you are THINKING ABOUT STARTING personal strength training, I hope you will consider SuperSlow Zone Sugar Land and Katy…or somewhere else. Start.
